Overview

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Process Optimization Engineer) will lead and manage process improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimize business processes, reduce waste, and improve quality. This role will work cross-functionally to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and mentor teams to achieve measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact process improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
  • Analyze data to identify root causes of inefficiencies and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and ensure sustainability.
  • Mentor and train Green Belts and other team members in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project success and organizational impact.
  • Facilitate workshops and Kaizen events to drive rapid improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, outcomes, and financial benefits.
  • Ensure alignment of improvement initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Requires up to 25% domestic travel within the United States.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized institution (e.g., ASQ, IASSC).
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience leading Lean Six Sigma projects with demonstrated results.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or equivalent).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience: Experience in Financial Services industry and familiarity with change management principles.
